What is Travatar?
Travatar is a social app where you travel through an avatar. Your avatar follows the trip plan you choose in real time: when it's on a train, it's really on the move, and at night it sleeps at the hotel. Open the app any time to see where it is and what it's doing, and a photo is posted automatically each time it reaches a sight.

Trips are paid for with Travel Coins (TC), the app's in-app points. You receive them when you sign up and for things like uploading photos or inviting friends, and spend them on fares, hotels and meals at close-to-real prices, so planning a trip feels like the real thing.
- All TC are given free of charge and cannot be bought with money
- TC cannot be exchanged for cash or any other points
- TC cannot be sent to, sold to or bought from other users

Q. Does it cost anything?
It's free. Trips are paid for with in-app Travel Coins (TC), so no real money is involved.
Q. Do I have to actually travel?
No. Your avatar does the traveling; you just follow along on your phone. When you do travel in real life, the Real Trips feature lets you log it and find companions.
Q. Do I need to install an app?
No. It works right in the browser on your phone or computer.
Q. Are my selfie or location stored?
Selfies used for AI avatars are not stored on our servers. Your location is used only when you tap "Find scenery near me", and latitude/longitude are never saved.
Q. Where can I travel?
Sights and islands across all 47 prefectures of Japan. You can also search for a place by name to add a new destination.
